PROMYS: Program in Mathematics for Young Scientists

[2011 Photo]

PROMYS is a six-week summer program at Boston University designed to encourage strongly motivated high school students to explore in depth the creative world of mathematics in a supportive community of peers, counselors, research mathematicians, and visiting scientists.

The Clay Mathematics Institute (CMI) and PROMYS are offering new advanced seminars for returning PROMYS students. Returning students also engage in original research under the mentorship of professional mathematicians.

Financial Aid

PROMYS offers need-based financial aid and is dedicated to the principle that no one should be unable to attend for financial reasons.

AMS Scholarships

We are proud to announce that, with support from the American Mathematical Society (AMS), PROMYS will offer the following scholarships to two talented high school students in this summer's program:

The Ky and Yu-fen Fan Scholarship

and

the Robert H. Oehmke Scholarship

ARML Scholarships

PROMYS will be awarding up to two full scholarships (to one male and one female PROMYS student) among American Regions Math League (ARML) participants who qualify for the program. To be eligible, you must fill out and send in the PROMYS-ARML application form by the deadline.

Linde Family Scholarships

Thanks to the generosity of the Linde Family Foundation, scholarships of at least $500 will be granted to all PROMYS students who are residents of Massachusetts.

HMMT/HMNT Scholarships

PROMYS will award two $250 scholarships (to one male and one female first-year PROMYS student) among winners of HMMT or HMNT who qualify for the program.
