1. Playing Catchup with Iterated Exponentials.
(With Robert L. Devaney, Kresimir
Josic, Monica Moreno Rocha,
Yakov Shapiro, and Alex Frumoso)
In this paper we describe the global bifurcations in the Family F(z) = z^2 + c/z, i.e., the singular pertubation
of z^2 obtained by adding a pole at the origin. To appear in
The American Mathematical Monthly.
2. Sierpinski Curve Julia Sets and Singular
Perturbations of Complex Polynomials.
(With Paul Blanchard, Robert L. Devaney,
Daniel M. Look and Yakov Shapiro.)
In this paper we describe a family of rational maps of the complex plane
that has infinitely many distinct parameter values for which the corresp onding Julia set is a Sierpinski Curve. Although all of these Julia Sets are homeomorphic, we prove that there are infiniltely
many open sets in the parameter plane in which the corresponding maps on the Seirpinski Curve have different (non-conjugate) dynamics. To appear in Ergodic Theory and Dynamical
Systems.
3.
Sierpinski Carpets and Gaskets as Julia Sets of Rational Maps
(With Paul Blanchard, Robert L. Devaney,
Daniel Look, Monica Moreno Rocha and David Uminsky)
In this paper we discuss the dynamical and the parameter planes for the
family of rational maps F(z)=z^2 + c/z^2. To Appear.
