Boston University's team achieved a Meritorious finish in the 2002 COMAP Mathematical Modeling competition. Over 500 teams from around the world competed in this year's competition, submitting papers attacking open-ended modeling problems. Teams comprised of three undergraduates had 72 hours to research, create and evalutate models for problems from applied mathematics. Meritorious is the second highest level finish possible, placing the BU team in the top 20%. Team members were Melissa Vellela, Lauren Davis and Douglas Leeder. (All Juniors).
