Announcements
- Welcome to MA 225!
- Create your MyMathLab account by clicking the link and following the instructions. You will need the course ID: barry44217. As mentioned in class, this work will not be part of your grade, but may be very helpful as a "tutor."
- Homework related to today's lecture has been posted, see the link Homework Assignments. It is highly recommended that you do this
homework tonight!
- Reminder: Next Monday, May 28 is a holiday and so we will have a "substitute Monday" class on Friday, June 1 (that's next Friday!). Since there will be no class on Monday,
Homework 1 will be due at the beginning of class on Tuesday, May 29.
- Notice updated office hours above.
- 5/23/12 I have added a number of review exercises for differentiation and integration to the MyMathLab website. As mentioned in class, these will NOT be turned in or graded and are for
your benefit only.
- 5/24/12 If you were unable to register for MyMathLab yesterday, I believe that the problem is now fixed. Please let me know if you are still unable to register with the course ID above.
- 5/24/12 The first midterm will be next Friday, June 1. More details to follow.
- 5/30/12 Unless otherwise noted during class tomorrow, the midterm will cover Sections 10.1-10.2, 11.1-11.8 and 12.1. One exam question will be taken directly from the homework assignments.
You are allowed a two-sided 3 by 5 note card during the exam, but calculators will not be permitted.
- 5/30/12 A nice visualization of the cross product can be found HERE. A similar visualization tool can be found on
MyMathLab, and this will be shown in class today.
- 5/31/12 EXAM UPDATE: Section 12.1 will not be on the exam.
- Exam 1 solutions are now posted.
- Here is a link to an example of a function for which the mixed partial derivatives are not equal.
- 6/11/12 Reminder: The second midterm will take place this Thursday, June 14. The exam will cover all of Chapter 12, and any sections of Chapter 13 we discuss before Thursday.
We will hold a review/question-and-answer session during the second half of class on Wednesday.
- 6/20/12--Quiz 6 due tomorrow in class
- The final exam will be held this Thursday in class. Approximately 2/3 of the exam will be from Chapters 13-14 and 1/3 will be related to earlier material. I am "assigning" homework
this week but will not be collecting it. The problems are meant to give you an idea of the types of questions you should understand from Chapter 14.
