Yves Atchade -- SHORT BIO

Yves Atchade leads the Formes Research Group. He is Professor of Statistics in the Math and Stats department with a joint appointment in the Faculty of Computing and Data Science at BU. His current research interests deal mainly with Markov Chain Monte Carlo methods, the statistical properties of Bayesian procedures, and the development of statistical methods for improved environmental prediction. He received a PhD from the Universite de Montreal in 2003 working with Prof. Francois Perron. He was a visting student at the University of Toronto with Prof Jeff Rosenthal, and a postdoc fellow at Harvard University in 2003-2004 with Prof. Jun Liu. He is fellow of the Institute of Mathematical statistics, and has served on the editorial board of several leading statistical journals including the Harvard Data Science Review, the Bernoulli Journal, and the Journal of the American Statistical Association -- Theory and Methods.
