In this class we shall continue the study of integration, in particular developing various techniques of integration as well as applications of integration. The remainder of the class will be devoted to sequences and series and an introduction to differential equations. Outline of topics to be covered: Integration, Applications of Integrals, Integration Techniques, Sequences and Infinite Series, Power Series, Differential Equations.
TEXTBOOK: Single Variable Calculus: Early Transcendentals, 2nd Edition, by Briggs, Cochran and Gillett Pearson 2015.
GRADING: problem sets (40%), midterm exam (20%) and a final exam (40%).
HOMEWORK: Every Thursday for the next Thursday. Late homeworks will not be accepted at all. See below table for assignments and due dates.
SCHEDULE OF EXAMS: The midterm exam will be held on Monday, July 25th from 6:00pm to 7:30pm and will cover all that has been done up to Tuesday, July 19th included. The (cumulative) final exam will be held on Thursday, August 11th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in the usual classroom (PHO 210) and will cover everything that has been done in class. No documents or calculators will be allowed.
