A (Very) Brief Bio

I was born in Bay City, Michigan on June 4, 1969, just a bit over a month before the moon landing (I don't remember much about it). I lived in Bay City until I was 19, when my family moved to San Diego, California.

I lived in San Diego for about eight years. While there I attended the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), where I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics in June of 1993. Upon graduation I went to work as a software developer at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), a San Diego based company. After working for two years, I grew restless, and decided to go back to graduate school. In the Winter of 1995 I applied to and was accepted into the Department of Mathematics at Boston University for the Fall 95 semester.

I have finished work on my doctoral degree, and at this writing, I am in the process of looking for a job. My field of study is dynamical systems, and my dissertation is on pattern formation in the 1-D/2-D Gray-Scott model.

I was married in the summer of 1999. Here's a link to my Wedding Page.
