Well, if you want to know about me in this modern day of information I certainly don't need to tell you anything. A demonstration:
From the location of this page you can make a good guess that I have an account with the username 'kayeats' on the machine 'math.bu.edu'. You then might look at that machine's web presence. So I'm somehow affiliated with the math department at Boston University. If you poke around the people section you'll find exactly how before too long.
If you're too impatient for that another good try would be finger. Unfortunately math.bu.edu doesn't accept finger connections from everywhere, so I'll give you a hint: try 'bu.edu' instead.
Finger is getting much less used these days so you might also go right to google with my username which is a remarkably successful approach. That way you'll see what mailing lists I frequent. The short answer being none -- all the Freeciv entries are from 2003 or earlier, while some of the other stuff is more recent but much less consistent. But more importantly you now have my full name.
Now try google with my name. Give it a few variations; with or without my middle name, as a string or not. A few years ago one used to get far too many false matches due to the fact that I share a surname with someone rather famous, but either google has improved or I've improved my web-presence, as it is much less of a problem now. The uk and Australian references are, however, false matches.
Sure enough you'll see that I'm a PhD student at BU. The early hits are pretty heavily dominated by my mathematical work now. If you keep going through the list you'll eventually find that I was an undergrad at the university of Waterloo, that I'm a Canadian from Halifax, NS. You'll see that I've done a small amount on the free software game Freeciv. Somewhere tucked in there are also some references to my recorder playing, the Conrad Grebel Chapel choir, and a letter to the editor.
Well that's about it. If you're really nosy you'll have to get into paper records or other such things. Or you could just ask. After all you now know my email.
