Grading Policy:
Attendance is 2 units worth, four TESTS (9/18,10/16,11/6,12/4) are 3 units each, the FINAL(12/20, 9-11am, SCI 107) is cumulative, it is 7 units worth.
Only documented reasons for a missed test or a missed lecture might be taken into consideration. To make-up for a religious holiday, you are asked to negotiate 3 days in advance.
The 3 lowest from these 21 grades will be dropped. The average of the remaining 18 will determine the grade for the class.

The Class' emphasis will be on developing ANALYTICAL SKILLS of students (the subtitle of the text is "Concepts and Contexts"). The course OUTLINE is below. Reading and understanding of the text in the respective section goes each time WITHOUT SAYING as part of the HW. HW problems are assigned daily, they are not collected. Test problems are similar to those from the text (or to the examples presented by the Instructor).
