MA 225 Section C: End of Semester Grades

Please read this: Your grades have now been computed and submitted to the Registrar's Office. Consequently, you should be able to see your final course grade via the StudentLink shortly.

The final exam results were fairly typical for this course. Some of you did quite well, but I would have liked to have seen a higher average. I used a curve that was a little more generous than the curves that I used on the in-class exams.

Your course grade has been computed according to the grading scheme that was stated on the syllabus at the beginning of the semester. That scheme already makes an allowance for one bad exam. No factors other than your performance on the exams and your homework/potd grade go into the determination of your course grade.

If you would like to go over your final with me, I would be happy to do that during my office hours next semester.

I try to be especially careful when I compute your grade. The computations are checked and double checked, so I would be surprised if mistakes were made. However, if you think that I have made a mistake in the computation, then you can check with me after the holidays. Please don't send email that essentially amounts to begging for a slightly higher grade.

If you would like to see the grade that you got on the final along with your homework/potd grade, you can go to the site for our course on WebCT. The homework/potd grades were normalized to a standard scale of 90-100 (A range), 80-90 (B range), 70-80 (C range), and 60-70 (D range).

To see your grades, go to WebCT, click on "Fall 2001", then on "MA 225 C1", and finally on "Check my grades."

Enjoy the semester break.
