Java versions of dfield and pplane:
Professor John Polking of Rice University has also worked with his colleagues to produce Java versions of dfield and pplane. The advantage of the Java versions is that you can run them inside of a Java-enabled browser. You do NOT need MATLAB! These Java programs are available at
http://math.rice.edu/~dfield/dfpp.html.
If you decide to use these programs, make sure that you have an appropriate version of Netscape or Explorer. By the way, Professor Polking's MATLAB routines are also available from that site, but the versions that I have placed on ACS are modified to conform to our notation, so I recommend your going to ACS rather than downloading any .m files from Rice.
