For a list of things that annoy me
see gripes.
Hand outs and other course announcement will appear HERE in
.pdf and/or other standard formats.
- Exercise #1: The following is a "Quicktime" movie of the flight
of a small piece of potatoe. Estimate the maximum height of the potatoe's
path. Make sure you are specific about your assumptions which you make
in your estimation. Is your estimation too large or too small?
Quicktime movie.
(Hint: The exercise requires calculations. You will need to watch the
movie carefully, perhaps with at stop watch.)
- Can you improve your estimate, e.g., using more observations
of the movie to estimate air resistance?
The following are the "minimum suggested exercises" that you should
do. Exactly which of these that you will be required to hand in will
be announced in class
