Currently, I am interested in understanding the mechanisms of cortical plasticity in the auditory system. Using computational methods, our models seek to explore and explain various phenomena from basic cellular biophysics.
I am primarily interested in modeling molecular kinetics and biophysics of synaptic efficacy. Additionally, I have an interest in the power of optimized neural networks constrained by experimentally obtained biological parameters.
It is my belief that a bottom-up approach in neuroscience must converge on the top-down approach of other related disciplines, if (a) it is, in fact, continuous and (b) if we're right. The latter is a huge assumption.
