MA 124 Calculus II --- Spring 2021

This course is the second half of the one-year sequence in calculus. We study the theory and applications of integration, sequences, series, and some results about differential equations.

We review the material in Chapter 5 of the text, and we cover most of the material in Chapters 6-11.

Basic Setup: All course resources discussed below can be accessed via Blackboard

In Blackboard, you will be able to access two sites - one corresponding to your lecture section MA 124 A1-A3, and one corresponding to the discussion section MA 124 B1-B6.

In the lecture section site, you will see the following tabs:

Textbook and Pearson MyLab Math on-line homework system: Information regarding the text and homework system.

Lecture Sections: These sections are the weekly lectures (3 hours/week). All students must be registered for one of the following sections.

Discussion Sections:

All students must be registered for one of the following B sections.

Unit Tests: There will be three unit tests and a cumulative final exam. You will be given a 24-hour window within which to complete the tests and final exam. The test/exam schedule is as follows:

Unit test 1 Feb. 18-19
Unit test 2 Mar. 11-12
Unit test 3 Apr. 15-16
Final May 4-6

Grading: Your grade for the course will be determined using the following percentages:

Each unit test 15%
Final exam 20%
Quiz grade and Discussion Worksheets 20%
Homework grade 15%
