should WAIT UNTIL AFTER YOUR FIRST LECTURE before you purchase
anything.
Textbook:
Briggs, Cochran, and Gillett: Calculus (Early
Transcendentals, third edition), 2018
Pearson, .
MyMathLab (MML) on-line homework system and textbook (required)
-
Register for an account with the publisher Pearson through their
on-line MML system at www.mymathlab.com
- You have two options for purchasing the text and access to the MML system:
(i) There is a bundled version of a 24 month
accesss code to the on-line MML homework system, an electronic textbook, and soft-cover textbook.
We have negotiated
a discounted price of $112.49 for this bundled version.
The bundle
is available through the BU Bookstore
Purchase of the bundle will give you a passcode
for the MML website, through which you access the on-line homework system.
Once the purchased MML code is used, you may not be able to get a full refund on your text. You can access MML for 14 days at no cost - see below.
Note that
you must be connected to the internet each time
you use the on-line homework system.
(ii) You can buy a one-year digital-only
access code (which includes access to the e-text, but no softcover
text) for $111.71, also at the BU Bookstore.
- The MML course ID for this course is szczesny54757
-
If you have an MML account from taking MA123 here at Boston University
during the past two years, then that account is still valid with the passcode
that you used in MA123,
and you do not need to purchase anything.
-
The MML passcode that you receive for MA124
(or have from MA123) also gives you access to the textbook and
materials for MA 225.
-
Do not purchase a used textbook unless
you can get a good deal on a usable MyMathLab passcode
separately.
-
(USEFUL INFO)
You can access this course on MyMathLab
at NO COST for 14 days without
a passcode. After
that, you will need a code. Therefore,
a MyMathLab passcode is required eventually
for all students.
