Saito-Kurokawa Lifts, L-values for GL2, and Congruences Between Siegel Modular Forms.

Abstract

The Bloch-Kato conjecture for modular forms roughly states that the special values of L-functions attached to modular forms measure the size of the corresponding Selmer groups. I will discuss a method for providing evidence for this conjecture through the study of congruences between Siegel modular forms.
