Constraints from Superconformal Invariance on Correlators in N=4 Super-Yang-Mills Theory

 Abstract: N=4 SYM theory is a finite quantum field theory with unbroken
 superconformal invariance. The talk describes some consequences of this
 invariance for correlators involving composite gauge invariant operators,
 of the type which appear in the AdS/CFT correspondence. In particular,
 it is explained how the N=2 harmonic superspace formulation of N=4 SYM
 together with Intriligator's `insertion formula' and results on
 superconformal covariants can be used to drastically simplify the
 computation of such correlators.
