Research Interests:

•           Internationally-recognized expert in the areas of longitudinal data analysis,
            multivariate data analysis, biostatistics and robust procedures.
•           Professor D'Agostino is co-Principal Investigator and Director of Data
            Management and Statistical Analysis of the 50-year Framingham Heart Study
•           Professor D’Agostino has received grants from many other private and
            governmental agencies, including the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation,
            the Social Security Administration, the National Eye Institute, AFOSR,
            NIH, NIMH, HHSA, the National Institute of Justice, the National Heart,
            Lung and Blood Institute, and the NSF.

Professional Activities:

•           Director of the Statistics and Consulting Unit at Boston University
•           Executive Director of the M.A./Ph.D. Program in Biostatistics at Boston University
•           Editor of the prestigious journal Statistics in Medicine and
•           Associate Editor of The American Journal of Epidemiology
•           Associate Dean for the Graduate School (1976-79)
•           Chairman of the Mathematics and Statistics Department (1986-1991)
•           Member, American Statistical Association (ASA), Health Policy Section of the ASA,
            Boston Chapter of the ASA; Member, American Public Health Association (APHA)

Teaching Activities:

•           Statistics I and II at the BU College of Arts and Sciences.
•           Multivariate Statistical Analysis at the BU Graduate School of Arts and Sciences
•           Guided many graduate students to completion of their Ph.D.s and post-graduation
            employment as teachers and researchers.

Honors and Awards:

•           Two citations from the Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration for
            outstanding contributions to drug development and evaluation
•           Fellow of the American Statistical Association and the Cardiovascular Epidemiology
            Section of the American Heart Association
•           Statistician of the Year from the Boston Chapter of the American Statistics Association
•           Winner of the Metcalf Cup and Prize for Excellence in Teaching at Boston University

Published Textbookss:

Professor D’Agostino is joint author two books: Factor Analysis and Practical Engineering Statistics.

And the joint editor of two books Goodness-of-Fit Techniques and Mathematical Models in Emergency Health Services Research

Professor D’Agostino has published over 180 articles.
