  Title:
         De Rham Cohomology of the
         p-adic
upper half-plane

Speaker:

          Jeehoon Park (Boston University)
Abstract: The goal of the talk is to prove that the first degree De Rham cohomology of the p-adic upper half plane is isomorphic to the space of harmonic cochains on the Bruhat-Tits tree. The method is using the Mayer-Vietoris spectral sequence to glue the cohomologies of the star shaped domains and annuli in the p-adic upper half-plane, based on the acyclicity of the local system on the Bruhat-Tits tree. After reviewing the Bruhat-Tits tree and the tiling of the p-adic upper plane briefly, I will explain how one computes its cohomology.
