| Abstract:  | 
      A computational method for obtaining the Galois group associated to the Hilbert p-class tower of a number field K will be described together with results for various imaginary quadratic fields K when p = 2 or 3. If time permits we will discuss some exciting new developments regarding the structure of Galois groups of maximal p-extensions of $\mathbb{Q}$ where ramification at a finite set of primes (excluding p) is allowed. |
