Converting old ratings to the new system

All provisional and established ratings from the old system are carried over to the new system. For provisional players under the old system, $N$, the number of games upon which the rating is based, is set to the corresponding number in the old system. Because the number of games for established players under the old system was not retained, the new value of $N$ is 50 if the player's rating is 2200 or over. If the player's rating is less than 2200, then $N$ is assigned the larger of 26 and

\begin{displaymath}
50/\sqrt{1 + (2200-R_\old)^2/100000},
\end{displaymath}

rounded to the nearest whole number, where $R_\old$ is the old rating.
