There are hundreds of control sequences in Emacs; the above are
only the basics. If you accidently type an incorrect control or
escape sequence and you want Emacs to stop executing that command,
use the C-g command to do so. Quit will appear
in the command line on the screen. Now you can safely type a new
command.
If you type a command accidently, use C-x u (hold down
the Control key while typing the letter x then
let go of the Control key and type the letter u) to undo
the last change that was made to the file. If you type C-x
u repeatedly you will undo all the previous changes.
