We next traveled to Rameswaram, an island just off the coast of the subcontinent. This is the closest point in India to Sri Lanka, and boasts some beautiful beaches.

	Sand, lots of sand. The ocean is actually on the horizon, and at certain times of the year, the water makes its way to this point.
	During our travels in the state of Tamil Nadu, we saw several large windmill farms like these.
